According to 36Kr Guangdong, SEEV, a developer specializing in AR
diffractive waveguide technology, has recently completed a new round of funding
worth more than 10 million CNY. The investment was jointly led by Redhill Capital,
Ambrum Capital, and Canano Fund. The funds will primarily be used to expand the
R&D team and optimize the mass production process for silicon carbide waveguide
etching, accelerating the commercialization of AR optical modules for consumer
applications.
SEEV has established a comprehensive technological system covering optical
software and design, nanofabrication, and device packaging and testing.

“The industry has shifted from hardware stacking to breakthroughs in cutting-edge
optical components,” said SEEV CFO Wei Xike. “AR glasses will become the best
carrier for AI in the future, and diffractive waveguides are the optimal solution for
consumer-grade AR glasses. Etching technology is the ultimate production route for
diffractive waveguides.”
By advancing mass production techniques and overcoming material processing
challenges, SEEV has achieved industry-leading shipment volumes of nanoimprinted
diffractive waveguides, offering high transparency and ultra-thin, lightweight displays.
As one of the earliest companies in China to explore AR waveguide etching, SEEV
has accumulated extensive technical expertise in the mass production of etching
processes for silicon carbide and other materials. This foundation paves the way for
future large-scale production of single-piece full-color waveguides using etching
technology.
