The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology
(CAICT) has officially launched a specialized testing program for AI glasses. This
initiative aims to drive technological innovation and industry standardization,
supporting the healthy development of the AI glasses sector.
The testing is being conducted jointly by CAICT’s TAF Terminal Lab and Sream Lab,
with a primary focus on evaluating the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer smart glasses. The
evaluation covers seven key modules, including basic configuration, audio, imaging,
stabilization, interaction, battery life, and security & privacy, encompassing more than
60 individual test items. These assessments provide a comprehensive and objective
evaluation of AI glasses across various dimensions such as functionality,
performance, usability, and reliability.
This initiative is more than just a technical evaluation—it serves as a crucial
benchmark for the entire industry. By establishing key performance indicators, the
testing aims to foster further technological advancements while laying the
groundwork for industry standardization. It also enables manufacturers to better
understand their product positioning and competitiveness in the market, ultimately
contributing to the sustainable and healthy growth of the AI glasses ecosystem.
