When he heard indie studio RainSoft games was making this best-in-class snowboarding game, he wasted no time in dropping in at their HQ.
While some endorsements may be bought with wining, dining and a check, Terje’s comes at the cost of making the game true to the sport he helped define. #haakonsen is an athlete who boycotted the Olympics in order to stand by his principles. The RainSoft team couldn’t be more in agreement in its commitment in making it a true gaming and winter sports experience.
Hours were spent consulting on how carving and board physics actually work and how that could be replicated in #VR He discussed at length on how to get the feel of carving just right. Stories were shared about the difficulties of helicoptering in remote terrain and how skiing and snowboarding is experienced by the elites of the sport.
He’s still the world record holder for highest air on a snowboard with 9.8m in The Arctic Challenge in Norway. Famous for ripping lines in the Alaskan and Arctic backcountry, his peers looked on in awe and admiration as he heli-boarded down Alaska’s Peak 7601.
