Reliance Jio Launches JioDive VR Headset for Cricket Fans to Watch IPL in Virtual Reality

Virtual reality (VR) headsets have gained popularity in recent years due to their immersive and engaging experience. Among the highest-selling VR headsets are the Oculus Quest 2, PlayStation VR, and HTC Vive. These headsets offer advanced features such as 6DOF (six degrees of freedom), which allows for more realistic movement and interaction within the virtual environment.

While these high-end VR headsets are popular among consumers, prosumers, and enterprises, there is still a market for more affordable and accessible VR devices. VR cardboard headsets, such as the dis continued Google Cardboard as well as scores of unbranded cardboard VR headsets available on #amazon as well as #flipkart offer a low-cost and easy-to-use alternative for those looking to experience basic VR content. However, they lack the advanced features of the more expensive headsets.

In India, there are several VR startups that offer innovative and affordable VR headsets. Ajnalens, Nimo Planet, and Question Whats Real are among the companies that have already launched fantastic MR/AR and VR headsets in the market. These headsets offer unique features providing users with a more immersive and interactive experience, JIO has been vested in immersive technology since a while and understands the india market and has leveraged IPL- Indian Premier league to launch the ultimate cricket viewing experience on your smartphone with JioDive VR headset.

Reliance Jio, one of the largest telecom operators in India, has recently launched a new VR headset called JioDive. The headset is designed for cricket lovers who want to experience the Indian Premier League (IPL) in virtual reality. The JioDive headset offers a 100-inch virtual screen and a 360-degree view, allowing users to watch the IPL on the JioCinema app in a more immersive way.

The JioDive VR headset is priced at Rs 1,299 in India and is available exclusively for Jio users on the JioMart website. The headset supports Android and iOS phones with a minimum screen size of 4.7 inches and a maximum screen size of 6.7 inches. It uses the gyroscope and accelerometer of the paired device to provide the VR experience and features adjustable focus and lenses for a better viewing experience. The headset also comes with a three-way adjustable strap for a snug fit.

To use the JioDive VR headset, users need to scan the QR code on the box and install the JioImmerse app. They can then select the JioDive option and watch the IPL on the JioCinema app. The headset is non-returnable due to hygiene reasons, and users need to be connected to a Jio network to use it.

Overall, while high-end VR headsets like Oculus Quest 2 and PlayStation VR offer advanced features, there is still a market for affordable and accessible VR devices like JioDive and Google Cardboard. These devices provide users with an immersive and engaging experience, allowing them to explore virtual worlds and experience content in new and exciting ways.
