VIVO Applies for MR Headset and AI Glasses Trademarks

According to recent data from Qichacha, VIVO has applied to register several trademarks,

including “VIVO AI Glasses,” “VIVO AR,” “VIVO MR Headset,” and “VIVO MR Smart

Glasses.” All trademarks fall under the international classification of scientific instruments and

are currently awaiting substantive examination.

At the recent Boao Forum for Asia, VIVO unveiled its first MR (Mixed Reality) headset device,

VIVO Vision. Similar to Apple's Vision Pro, the device features an external battery design to

enhance wearing comfort and appears to use a comparable connection method.

Notably, MR is positioned as a key technology for VIVO, potentially becoming the “eyes” of

future robots. Earlier this year, VIVO Executive Vice President and COO Hu Baishan stated

that mixed reality is a critical technology for enabling advanced robotics, as it provides strong

spatial perception capabilities. He revealed that VIVO’s MR team has grown to a scale of 500

members and that high-fidelity prototype experiences are expected to roll out in several cities

across China by September this year.

VIVO has also begun recruiting technical experts in the robotics field and has officially

established a robotics laboratory (Robot LAB).

At the same forum, Hu Baishan noted that by leveraging its expertise in AI large models and

imaging technology, combined with self-developed MR real-time spatial computing

capabilities, VIVO aims to incubate the "brain" and "eyes" of robots—enabling them to

“understand their surroundings, comprehend needs, and respond accordingly.”
